Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl stars in the Netflix thriller based on the novel of the same name as Beth, who vacations with her best friend in Croatia. However, when her friend goes missing, Beth becomes the primary suspect.

Pieces of Her - 4 March

In an eight-episode series, a woman [Toni Collette] pieces together her mother's dark past after a violent attack in their small town brings hidden threats and deadly secrets to light.

The Adam Project - 11 March

The Adam Project centres on time-travelling fighter pilot Adam Reed [Ryan Reynolds], who after accidentally crash-landing in 2022, teams with his 12-year-old self [Walker Scobell] on a mission to save the future. Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, and Walker Scobell also star.

Drive to Survive Season 4 - 11 March

Drive to Survive will soon return to Netflix and the story arc surrounding the new season will focus on Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton’s title race, writes The Independent. The pair went toe-to-toe throughout the 2021 season and pushed each other so hard they went into the final race of the season on equal points.

Drive to Survive is a series of documentaries run by Netflix that takes Formula 1 fans behind the scenes, inside the garages and motor homes of all the drivers up and down the grid.

Eternally Confused and Eager for Love - 18 March

Production houses of Zoya Akhtar-Reema Kagti and Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani, Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment respectively, bring forth a young adult dramedy, Eternally Confused and Eager for Love, featuring the likes of Rahul Bose, Jim Sarbh, and Suchitra Pillai in supporting roles. The series stars Vihaan Samat as the 24-year-old introverted-confused Ray who is on a quest for love.

Windfall- 18 March

Directed by Charlie McDowell, the film is a Hitchcockian thriller following a young couple who arrive at their vacation home only to find it is being robbed.

The film features Emily in Paris star Lily Collins [who is also McDowell’s real-life wife], Jason Segel, and Oscar-nominated The Power of the Dog star Jesse Plemons.

Bridgerton Season 2 - 25 March

The second season will centre around the romantic travails of the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony Bridgerton [Jonathan Bailey], who is determined to find a suitable wife for himself. His search for a debutante seems to end when he meets Edwina Sharma [Charithra Chandran], who has arrived from India, and sets his sights on the newcomer. However, her elder sister Kate Sharma [Simone Ashley] discovers that the eldest Bridgerton sibling is not courting a true love match and decides to stop the union. What follows is a fiery battle of wits between the two, which only goes on to bring them closer together.

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness - 4 March

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness is a remake of the British television drama Luther. The crime drama sees Ajay Devgn portray DCP Rudra Veer Singh, a cop on the hunter for a killer. The series will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, and Kannada.

Turning Red - 11 March

This animated coming-of-age fantasy comedy film is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios. It is written and directed by Domee Shi in her feature directorial debut, produced by Lindsey Collins, and starring Rosalie Chiang and Sandra Oh.

It follows 13-year-old Mei Lee who is torn between being her mother's obedient daughter and the chaos of her youth. As if that were not enough, when she gets too excited, she turns into a big red panda.

Moon Knight - 30 March

The Marvel Cinematic Universe series stars Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight, a character first created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin in 1975 for the comic series “Werewolf by Knight.” In most depictions of the character, Moon Knight is the secret identity of Marc Spector, a former CIA operative turned mercenary. Spector gets his powers from the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, who approaches the former Marine to act as a conduit for his powers. Ethan Hawke is set to play the main antagonist in the show.

The Boys Presents: Diabolical Season 1 - 4 March

Diabolical spins out of Prime Video's popular live-action superhero satire series The Boys, which is itself based upon the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

Diabolical features the voice talents of The Boys stars Antony Starr, Elisabeth Shue, Chace Crawford, Simon Pegg and Giancarlo Esposito, as well as Kumail Nanjiani, Ben Schwartz, Michael Cera, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Smith, Don Cheadle, Andy Samberg, Aisha Tyler, Seth Rogen, Justin Roiland, and many more.

The show, from creator Greg Daniels (The Office), is set in a technologically advanced future where humans can choose to be “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife. Robbie Amell stars as a computer programmer who dies unexpectedly and finds himself in one of these digital afterlives at the expensive Lakeview.

In the second season, “Nathan (Amell) is at a crossroads in his (after) life. His ex-girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) has unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview, hoping to strengthen their relationship, but his heart still secretly yearns for his customer service angel Nora (Allo),” per the official synopsis.

Jalsa - 18 March

Directed by Suresh Triveni of Tumhari Sulu fame, the film is jointly produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. Jalsa features Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah, Manav Kaul, and Rohini Hattangadi among others. The film is also a reunion for Triveni, Balan, and Kaul following the 2017 comedy drama Tumhari Sulu.

Deep Water - 18 March

Deep Water is based on a book by the same name, written by Patricia Highsmith. The film follows a married couple (Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck) who have fallen out of love with each other. They begin playing deadly mind games against one another that begin seeing those around them dying.

Jugaadistan - 4 March

Jugaadistan is a story about college politics, and the ‘jugaad’ that comes with it. Directed by Akarsh Khurana and Adhaar Khurana, the show stars Sumeet Vyas, Arjun Mathur, Parambrata Chatterjee, Rukshar Dhillon, Taaruk Raina, Gopal Datt, and Ahsaas Channa among others.

Deadlock - 18 March 

The Hollywood action film stars legendary Bruce Willis, who is known for his action-packed roles in various films the actor has acted in. Willis plays the role of a retired army personnel, and works at a Power Plant in Georgia. When the plant is invaded by a group of soldiers, Bruce Willis does all he can to control the situation. The action-packed film is helmed by Jared Cohn, and written by Cam Cannon, along with Jared.

Lakewood - 25 March

This Naomi Watt-starrer thriller is helmed by Phillip Noyce. The film centers around a mother [Watts] who wants to save her child at any cost when the authorities impose a lockdown in her town owing to a shooting incident. The film has been shot at the picturesque locations of Ontario, Canada.

यूक्रेन में संघर्ष बढ़ने के साथ ही युद्धग्रस्त इलाकों में फंसे गुजरात के कई छात्रों ने बताया कि उन्हें दूतावासों द्वारा निकासी के लिए सलाह दी गई और बाद में चेक पॉइंट से वापस लौटा दिया गया। यूक्रेन और पोलैंड के बीच Shehyni-Medyka सीमा पर कुछ भारतीय छात्र 72 घंटे से अधिक समय से फंसे हुए हैं, जिन्हें निकासी के लिए निकाला गया है।

वडोदरा के एक छात्र ने द इंडियन एक्सप्रेस को बताया कि, “हम शुक्रवार शाम से कड़ाके की ठंड में इंतजार कर रहे हैं और यूक्रेन के सीमा रक्षक हमें पोलैंड जाने की अनुमति नहीं दे रहे हैं। उन्होंने लड़कियों और लड़कों को अलग कर दिया है। कुछ लड़कियों को 40 घंटे बाद जाने की इजाजत दी गई, लेकिन उसके बाद एक भी भारतीय को जाने की इजाजत नहीं दी गई। वे भारतीय छात्रों को मार रहे हैं और लात मार रहे हैं, जो सवाल पूछ रहे हैं और हमें हमारे विश्वविद्यालयों में वापस जाने के लिए कह रहे हैं। हममें से कुछ घायल भी हुए हैं।”

वडोदरा की ज्ञानीषा पटेल जिन्होंने रविवार को अपनी सहेली के साथ Shehyni चेक पोस्ट पार किया, उन्हें सोमवार शाम तक यूक्रेन से बाहर निकलने में करीब 36 घंटे लग गए। ज्ञानिषा ने बताया कि, “हमें चेक पोस्ट पार करने की अनुमति देने के बाद भी इंतजार करने के लिए कहा गया। बाहर निकलने के लिए वे हमारे पासपोर्ट पर मुहर लगाने को तैयार नहीं थे। हम अब पोलैंड पहुंच गए हैं और भारतीय दूतावास से आगे के निर्देशों की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं। यूक्रेन में हमारे मित्र जोखिम में हैं और हम उनके बारे में चिंतित हैं।”

यूक्रेन की राजधानी कीव में वडोदरा के एक चौथे वर्ष के मेडिकल छात्र ने कहा कि, “भारतीय दूतावास से सलाह के बाद छात्रों ने यूक्रेन छोड़ने का फैसला किया है। हालांकि हम भी डरे हुए हैं। हमने सुना है कि अन्य सीमाओं पर भारतीय छात्रों पर हमले हुए हैं।”

भारत सरकार ने यूक्रेन से भारतीयों को वापस लाने के लिए ऑपरेशन गंगा चलाया है। साथ ही भारतीयों की सुरक्षित निकासी की निगरानी के लिए भारत सरकार ने 4 मंत्रियों को यूक्रेन के पड़ोसी देशों में भेजने का फैसला किया है। केंद्रीय मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी हंगरी, वहीं ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया रोमानिया जाकर प्रबंधन देखेंगे। जबकि किरण रिजिजू स्लोवाकिया से और जनरल वीके सिंह पोलैंड से प्रबंधन देखेंगे।

22 जून के आसपास आ सकती है कोरोना की चौथी लहर : आइआइटी अध्ययन

भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आइआइटी) कानपुर के शोधकर्ताओं ने एक अध्ययन में कहा है कि देश में कोरोना संक्रमण की चौथी लहर 22 जून के आसपास आ सकती है। अगस्त के मध्य से अंत तक, चौथी लहर चरम पर पहुंच सकती है।

यह अध्ययन मेडरिव पत्रिका में हाल में प्रकाशित हुआ है और इस पर अभी निष्कर्ष आना बाकी है। शोधकर्ताओं ने सांख्यिकीय माडल के आधार पर यह अनुमान जताया है। इस अनुमान के अनुसार संभावित चौथी लहर करीब चार माह चलेगी। आइआइटी कानपुर के गणित और सांख्यिकीय विभाग के साबरा प्रसाद राजेशभाई, सुभ्र शंकर धर और शलभ के नेतृत्व में किए गए अध्ययन से पता चलता है कि चौथी लहर की गंभीरता कोरोना विषाणु के नए संभावित बहुरूप और देश भर में टीकाकरण की स्थिति पर निर्भर करेगी।

शलभ के अनुसार आंकड़े दिखाते हैं कि देश में संक्रमण की चौथी लहर प्रारंभिक आंकड़े उपलब्धता तिथि के 936 दिन बाद आएगी, जो कि 30 जनवरी 2020 है। उन्होंने लिखा कि इसलिए चौथी लहर 22 जून 2022 के आसपास शुरू होगी और 23 अगस्त 2022 तक चरम पर पहुंचेगी और फिर 24 अक्तूबर 2022 तक समाप्त हो जाएगी।

शलभ ने हालांकि कहा कि इस बात की संभावना हमेशा होती है कि संभावित कोरोना नए बहुरूप का गहरा असर पूरे आकलन पर हो। उन्होंने कहा कि ये असर बहुरूप की संक्रामकता और अन्य विभिन्न कारकों पर निर्भर करेंगे। शलभ के अनुसार इन तथ्य के अलावा संक्रमण, संक्रमण का स्तर और चौथी लहर से जुड़े विभिन्न मुद्दों पर टीकाकरण (पहली, दूसरी या एहतियाती) खुराक का प्रभाव अहम भूमिका निभा सकता है।

शलभ ने बताया कि तीसरी लहर को लेकर की गई हमारी भविष्यवाणी एकदम सही साबित हुई थी। उन्होंने कहा कि मैं चाहता हूं कि इस बार हमारी भविष्यवाणी गलत साबित हो। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने हाल ही में आगाह किया था कि कोरोना विषाणु का ओमीक्रान बहुरूप अंतिम बहुरूप नहीं होगा और अगला बहुरूप अधिक संक्रामक हो सकता है।

यूक्रेन में मौत के तांडव के बीच लाखों लोग बेघर

यूक्रेन में मौत के तांडव और अफरातफरी के बीच लोग किसी भी तरह जिंदगी बचाने की मशक्कत में जुटे हैं। डरे हुए लोग तहखानों और कारीडोर में आश्रय की तलाश कर रहे हैं। कई लोगों को जान गंंवानी पड़ी है और लाखों लोग अपना घर-बार छोड़कर या देश छोड़कर भाग चुके हैं। पोलैंड, हंगरी, स्लोवाकिया, रोमानिया और मोल्दोवा की सीमाओं की जांच चौकियों पर कारों और बसों की लंबी लाइनों को देखा गया।

अस्पतालों के बाहर और सड़कों पर दिल दहला देने वाले दर्दनाक दृश्य दिख रहे हैं। यूक्रेन के गृह मंत्रालय ने बताया है कि रूस के हमले में अभी तक 14 बच्चों समेत यूक्रेन के 352 नागरिकों की मौत हो चुकी है और 116 बच्चों समेत 1,684 लोग घायल हुए हैं। मंत्रालय ने रविवार को एक बयान में यह जानकारी दी, लेकिन उसने यह नहीं बताया कि यूक्रेन के सशस्त्र बलों के कितने जवान हताहत हुए हैं। उधर रूस ने दावा किया है कि उसके बल केवल यूक्रेन के सैन्य प्रतिष्ठानों को निशाना बना रहे हैं और यूक्रेन के आम नागरिकों को कोई खतरा नहीं है। वहीं, रूस के रक्षा मंत्रालय ने रविवार को केवल यह स्वीकार किया कि रूसी सैनिक हताहत हुए हैं, लेकिन उसने उनकी संख्या नहीं बताई।

इस बीच संयुक्त राष्ट्र शरणार्थी एजंसी ने सोमवार को कहा कि पिछले सप्ताह रूस द्वारा आक्रमण किए जाने के बाद पांच लाख से ज्यादा लोगों ने यूक्रेन छोड़ दिया है। पोलैंड, हंगरी, स्लोवाकिया, रोमानिया और मोल्दोवा की सीमाओं की जांच चौकियों पर कारों और बसों की लंबी लाइनों को देखा गया। कई लोगों ने पैदल ही सीमाओं को पार किया। कई सौ शरणार्थी हंगरी के सीमावर्ती गांव बेरेगसुरनी में एक अस्थायी केंद्र में ठहरे हुए थे, जहां वे पारगमन केंद्रों की ओर जाने के लिए वाहनों की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे।

पूर्वी यूरोप के अन्य सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों की तरह, बेरेगसुरनी में एक केंद्र में कई शरणार्थी भारत, नाइजीरिया और अन्य अफ्रीकी देशों से हैं, और वे यूक्रेन में काम कर रहे थे या पढ़ाई कर रहे थे।हंगरी ने यूक्रेन छोड़ने वाले सभी शरणार्थियों के लिए अपनी सीमाएं खोल दी हैं, जिसमें तीसरे देश के नागरिक भी शामिल हैं जो यूक्रेन में अपने प्रवास की बात साबित कर सकते हैं। संयुक्त राष्ट्र के शरणार्थी मामलों के उच्चायोग (यूएनएचसीआर) प्रमुख फिलिपो ग्रांडी ने सोमवार को ट्वीट किया कि पांच लाख से अधिक शरणार्थी अब यूक्रेन से पड़ोसी देशों में आ गए हैं।

जिनेवा स्थित यूएनएचआरसी की प्रवक्ता शाबिया मंटू ने कहा कि यूक्रेन के 2,81,000 लोगों ने पोलैंड में प्रवेश किया है और हंगरी में 84,500 से अधिक, मोल्दोवा में लगभग 36,400, रोमानिया में 32,500 से अधिक लोगों तथा स्लोवाकिया में लगभग 30,000 लोग पहुंचे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि कि शेष अन्य देशों में पहुंचे हैं। यूक्रेन से सैकड़ों शरणार्थियों को लेकर एक और ट्रेन सोमवार तड़के दक्षिण-पूर्वी पोलैंड के प्रेजेमिस्ल शहर पहुंची।

यूक्रेन-रूस टकराव में भारत: क्या रंग लाएगा नपा-तुला रुख

यूक्रेन पर रूस के हमले के बाद अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच पर भारत के अब तक के रुख को नपातुला और सधे अंदाज वाला बताया जा रहा है। खासकर, संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद में अब तक दो दफा मतदान में भारत विरत रहा। इसे राजनयिक अंदाज में संतुलन साधने की कोशिश मानी जा रही है। दरअसल, इस युद्ध को रूस, अमेरिका, चीन और तमाम यूरोपीय देशों के साथ भारत के संबंधों की कसौटी भी माना जा रहा है। आर्थिक मोर्चे पर शेयर बाजार में गिरावट से चुनौतियां बढ़ने के संकेत हैं। रक्षा सौदों के मामले में भारत के रूस और अमेरिका- दोनों के साथ गहरे संबंध हैं। चिकित्सा की पढ़ाई को लेकर यूक्रेन भारतीय छात्रों के लिए पसंदीदा जगह रही है। युद्ध से भारत का आयात-निर्यात भी काफी हद तक प्रभावित हो रहा है।

भारत-अमेरिका संबंध

यूक्रेन संकट के बीच अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति की एक टिप्पणी से राजनयिक स्तर पर शिकन बढ़ी है। रूसी हमले के बाद अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडेन जब वाइट हाउस में पत्रकारों से बात कर रहे थे, तब एक सवाल पर उन्होंने टिप्पणी कर दी कि रूस के साथ रक्षा संबंधों को लेकर भारत के साथ उनके मतभेद अभी सुलझे नहीं हैं और उन पर बातचीत चल रही है। रूस के साथ भारत के रक्षा सौदों, खासकर एस-400 मिसाइल रक्षा प्रणाली को लेकर उनसे सवाल पूछा गया था। अपने जवाब में बाइडेन ने कम शब्दों में इशारा कर दिया कि अमेरिका भारत के रुख से ज्यादा संतुष्ट नहीं है।

दरअसल, यूक्रेन संकट पर भारत राजनयिक स्तरीय वार्ता और शांति बहाली की बात कर रहा है। विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर के मुताबिक, यूक्रेन के मुद्दे पर जो कुछ हो रहा है, वह नाटो के विस्तार और सोवियत-युग के बाद रूस के पश्चिमी देशों के संबंधों से जुड़ा है। सुरक्षा परिषद में भारत ने जिस तरह के बयान दिए, उसे रूस के पक्ष में माना गया। रूस ने भारत के इस रुख का स्वागत किया है।

भारत-रूस रिश्ता

भारत की रूस के साथ करीबी अमेरिका को परेशान करती रही है। बीते साल दिसंबर में पुतिन ने भारत का दौरा किया था, जिसमें दोनों देशों के बीच कई रक्षा समझौतों पर दस्तखत किए गए थे। उसके बाद भारत ने पुष्टि की कि रूस ने जमीन से हवा में मार करने वाली एस-400 मिसाइलों की आपूर्ति शुरू कर दी है। एस-400 मिसाइलों की आपूर्ति को भारतीय सेना को आधुनिक बनाने की दिशा में एक अहम कदम माना जा रहा है। वर्ष 2018 में हुआ यह समझौता पांच अरब डालर से भी ज्यादा का है, लेकिन इस पर अमेरिका की नाराजगी की तलवार अब भी लटक रही है।

अमेरिका ने ‘काउंटरिंग अमेरिकाज एडवर्सरीज थ्रू सैंक्शंस एक्ट’ (काट्सा) नामक कानून के तहत इस समझौते को आपत्तिजनक माना है। काट्सा के तहत रूस को उत्तर कोरिया और ईरान के साथ उन देशों की सूची में रखा गया है, जिन्हें अमेरिका ने अपना शत्रु बताया है। इसकी वजह यूक्रेन में रूस की कार्रवाई, 2016 के अमेरिकी चुनावों में दखल अंदाजी और सीरिया की मदद जैसी रूसी गतिविधियां बताई गई हैं।

रूस पर भारत की निर्भरता

भारत, कश्मीर मामले में पाकिस्तान के साथ विवाद में रूस के सहयोग और सुरक्षा परिषद में वीटो के लिए निर्भर रहा है। यूक्रेन से विवाद के दौरान जब पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान मास्को पहुंचे तो भारत ने चौकस निगाह रखी। इमरान खान से पुतिन की मुलाकात करीब तीन घंटे चली। राजनयिक स्तर पर माना जा रहा है कि यूक्रेन की जंग से भारत के लिए ना सिर्फ कश्मीर बल्कि चीन के साथ भी चल रहे विवाद में नई चुनौतियां पैदा हुई हैं। पाकिस्तान और चीन दोनों रूस की तरफ है। ऐसे में सुरक्षा परिषद में मतदान से भारत के बाहर रहने को बेहतर विकल्प माना जा रहा है।

भारत और रूस ने 2025 तक आपसी कारोबार को 30 अरब डालर तक ले जाने का लक्ष्य रखा है। भारत रूस के तेल और गैस पर भी बहुत निर्भर है। रूस से प्राकृतिक गैस के कुल निर्यात का 0.2 फीसद भारत को जाता है। भारत-रूस ने सैन्य तकनीक में सहयोग को अगले दशक तक बढ़ाने के लिए करार पर दस्तखत किए थे। रक्षा और ऊर्जा संसाधनों के अलावा अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में बड़े सहयोग के लिए करार किया गया है।गगनयान मिशन के तहत तीन भारतीयों को 2022 तक अंतरिक्ष में भेजने की योजना है, जिसके लिए सरकार 10 हजार करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा खर्च कर रही है। जंग की वजह अब गगनयान मिशन पर भी असर पड़ने की आशंका है।

रूस और यूक्रेन से कारोबारी संबंध

रूस और भारत के बीच अब कारोबार काफी कम रह गया है। भारत अपने कुल सामान का 0.8 फीसद रूस को निर्यात करता है। भारत के कुल आयात में रूस का हिस्सा महज 1.5 फीसद है। वर्ष 2020 में भारत और रूस के बीच बिजनेस संबंधों में 17 फीसद की गिरावट आई है। दूसरी ओर, भारत और यूक्रेन के बीच भी बहुत ज्यादा कारोबार नहीं है। भारत केवल बड़े पैमाने पर खाद्य तेल यूक्रेन से आयात करता है। पिछले साल भारत के कुल खाद्य तेल आयात में 74 फीसद हिस्सेदारी यूक्रेन की थी। इसके अलावा प्लास्टिक और पालिमर का आयात- निर्यात भी बड़े पैमाने पर होता है। यूक्रेन में कई बड़ी भारतीय कंपनियां- जैसे रैनबैक्सी, डाक्टर रेड्डी लैब और सन ग्रुप का कारोबार है।

क्या कहते हैं जानकार

देश में हथियार बनने लगे हैं, इसके बावजूद भारत अब भी रूसी हथियारों पर बहुत निर्भर है। बड़ी सच्चाई यह है कि भारत एक तरह से चीन के साथ युद्ध के बीच में है। विवादित सीमा को लेकर भारत और चीन आमने सामने है। यह ध्यान में रखना होगा।

‘मेरा खून तमिलनाडु की मिट्टी में मिला हुआ है’: स्टालिन की आत्मकथा का विमोचन कर बोले राहुल गांधी, पीएम मोदी पर भी साधा निशाना

सोमवार को कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन की आत्मकथा ‘उंगलिल ओरुवन’ के पहले भाग का लोकार्पण किया। चेन्नई में हुए इस कार्यक्रम में केरल के सीएम पिनरई विजयन, बिहार के विपक्ष के नेता तेजस्वी यादव और नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के नेता उमर अब्दुल्ला भी मौजूद रहे।

स्टालिन के 69वें जन्मदिन की पूर्व संध्या पर आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में द्रमुक के कई वरिष्ठ नेता, राज्य के कैबिनेट मंत्री, आईएएस और आईपीएस अधिकारी सहित कई तमिल अभिनेता मौजूद थे। आत्मकथा के पहले भाग में स्टालिन के शुरुआती 23 साल के बारे में बताया गया है। इसमें 1953 में उनके जन्म से लेकर 1976 तक का जिक्र है जब उन्हें आपातकाल के दौरान मीसा के तहत गिरफ्तार किया गया था।

इस कार्यक्रम में बोलते हुए कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी ने संसद में दिए गए अपने उस भाषण को याद किया जिसमें उन्होंने कई बार तमिलनाडु का जिक्र किया था। उनके भाषण के बाद जब एक पत्रकार ने उनसे पूछा कि उन्होंने इतनी बार तमिलनाडु का नाम क्यों लिया तो उन्होंने कहा कि उन्होंने ऐसा इसलिए किया क्योंकि वे तमिल थे। इसके बाद राहुल ने कहा कि मैंने बाद में कार में सोचा कि ऐसा मैंने क्यों कहा। मैंने खुद से पूछा कि मैं तो तमिलनाडु में पैदा भी नहीं हुआ और मैं तमिल भी नहीं बोलता हूं। तमिल 3000 साल पुरानी सभ्यता है और मैं उस सभ्यता को समझता भी नहीं हूं। फिर मैं कैसे कह सकता हूं कि मैं एक तमिल हूं। मुझे खुद को तमिल कहने का अधिकार किसने दिया? तब मुझे एहसास हुआ कि मैंने ऐसा क्यों कहा। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि मेरा खून आपकी मिट्टी में मिला हुआ है।

आगे राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि पिता को खोना मेरे लिए बहुत दुखद अनुभव है। बहुत कठिन अनुभव, लेकिन यह एक ऐसा अनुभव भी है जिससे मैं सीखता हूं। इसलिए मुझे एहसास हुआ कि मुझे खुद को तमिल कहने का अधिकार है। राहुल गांधी ने यह भी कहा कि वह तमिलनाडु में विनम्रता के साथ आते हैं और यहां की परंपरा, भाषा और इतिहास के आगे सिर झुकाते हैं।

इस दौरान उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि अगर कोई अक्षरों का सम्मान नहीं करता है तो वो कविता का भी सम्मान नहीं कर सकता। तमिलनाडु सिर्फ दो शब्द नहीं है बल्कि यह 3,000 साल पुरानी सभ्यता है। जब वे इसे नहीं समझते हैं, तो वह राज्य और हमारे देश का अपमान करते हैं। आप तमिलनाडु के लोगों की आवाज कैसे छीन सकते हैं और फिर आप कैसे कह सकते हैं कि आप तमिलनाडु के लोगों का सम्मान करते हैं? जब तमिलनाडु के लोग बार-बार आपसे नीट के बारे में बात करना चाहते हैं और आप उनका जवाब नहीं देते हैं, तो यह किस प्रकार का सम्मान है? अगर आप यहां आते हैं और संस्कृति एवं भाषा का सम्मान करते हैं तो वे आपको बदले में कुछ नहीं देंगे लेकिन प्यार जरूर देंगे।

बीजेपी में शामिल हुए गुलाम नबी आज़ाद के भतीजे, भाजपा ने बताया टर्निंग पॉइंट

कांग्रेस के दिग्गज नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद के भतीजे मुबशर आजाद भारतीय जनता पार्टी में शामिल हो गए हैं। बता दें कि जम्मू कश्मीर कांग्रेस के लिए यह बड़े झटके समान है। यह तब हुआ है जब कांग्रेस और गुलाम नबी आजाद की बीच तल्खी की खबरें सामने आ रही थीं। ऐसे में अब सियासी कयासों का दौरा शुरू हो चुका है। बता दें कि भाजपा इसे टर्निंग प्वाइंट बता रही है।

बता दें कि बीते कई महीनों से गुलाम नबी आज़ाद और कांग्रेस में भी दूरी देखी गई है। आजाद कांग्रेस के नेता होने के साथ एक मुखर आलोचक हैं। वो कांग्रेस के G23 नेताओं में शामिल हैं। उन्होंने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी को पत्र लिखकर एक सक्रिय नेतृत्व के साथ-साथ कांग्रेस में व्यापक सुधार की मांग की थी। हालांकि आजाद तब से कई कांग्रेसी नेताओं के निशाने पर भी बने रहे हैं।

इस बीच गुलाम नबीं आजाद के भतीजे का भाजपा में शामिल होना सवाल उठा रहा है कि क्या अब गुलाम नबी आजाग भी कांग्रेस से छिटककर बीजेपी का रुख करेंगे। बता दें कि बीते कुछ दिनों में कांग्रेस के कई कद्दावर नेताओं ने पार्टी छोड़कर बीजेपी में शामिल हो गये हैं।

वहीं भाजपा में शामिल होने के बाद पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए मुबशर ने कहा कि कांग्रेस नेतृत्व द्वारा अपने चाचा के प्रति किए गए अनादर से वह ‘गंभीर आहत’ हैं। इस अपमान की वजह से उन्होंने कांग्रेस से दूरी बना ली। उन्होंने कहा कि गुलाम नबी आजाद कांग्रेस के करिश्माई नेताओं में शुमार हैं लेकिन उनके साथ जिस तरह का व्यवहार हुआ, उससे आम जनता की भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंची है।

मुबशर ने कहा कि कांग्रेस के भीतर जहां अंदरूनी कलह है, वहीं पीएम मोदी ने आम जनता का विश्वास हासिल किया है। उन्होंने कहा, “हम समाज और राष्ट्र के हित में पीएम मोदी और भाजपा के साथ खड़े होने का संकल्प लेते हैं।”

बता दें कि कांग्रेस ने यूपी विधानसभा चुनाव 2022 को लेकर पार्टी के स्टार प्रचारकों की जो सूची जारी की थी उसमें भी आजाद का नाम शामिल नहीं था। ऐसे में अटकलें तेज हो गईं कि पार्टी और आजाद के बीच सबकुछ बेहतर नहीं हैं।

Of prison cells and controversial celebrities: Decoding Lock Upp, Kangana Ranaut's Bigg Boss-style reality show

“It is going to be Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment,” says Poonam Pandey just before entering the Lock Upp House.

Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaachaari Khel, a collaboration between MXPlayer and Ekta Kapoor’s ALTBalaji, is touted to be the most fearless captive reality digital show, where 16 controversial celebrities are put together in a ‘lock-up’ for 72 days while they are stripped of their amenities. Lock Upp will challenge the contestants to survive in extreme conditions where they will have to win tasks to achieve basic necessities. They would even have to play the game, and fight for getting bail to survive on the show.

Model-actress Pandey, who has often hogged the limelight for controversies, says she never thought twice before saying ‘yes’ to Lock Upp, because she was 'craving work’. Hosted by Kangana Ranaut, the show went live on Sunday, 27 February, 10 PM on ALTBalaji and MXPlayer.

"I had no option but to say ‘yes’ to the show. Lock Upp is like a prasad for me. Yes, the show is challenging, and you need to be strong to be part of it but whatever I have gone through in my life, I don’t think anything can be worse than that. I am not scared but I am a bit nervous, and I don’t know how I will deal with situations inside but I am excited because now, people will know the real Poonam Pandey. Otherwise nobody knows me. I am just a headline. I want to show the real avatar of myself. In the last decade or so, people have only seen me in videos, heard my interviews, controversies but going further, I don’t want to be that two-second judgment of somebody. I read everything, I read every single troll, and it hurts me. I come from a small family. I have worked hard on myself so I hate when people don’t see those aspects. Yes, I have done certain things which I agree are wrong. I have many regrets. But I want people to know how helpless we can get. I am nervous that many secrets of mine will come out but I am also happy that the real Poonam will now be seen, and probably understood.” says Pandey.

“I have been offered several reality shows in the past but I was in love with Lock Upp because this is a new concept, and this one is something that I will watch as an audience reason being that both Ekta and Kangana are strong ladies. And on top of it, you bring 16 controversial personalities, not seedha saadha people and put them in jail, in a lock up, and what do you get – Entertainment, entertainment, entertainment [dialogue from Kapoor's 2013 blockbuster The Dirty Picture],” she adds.

Television actors Nisha Rawal, Kaaranvir Bohra, Sara Khan, Payal Rohatgi; stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, wrestler and gold medalist Babita Phogat, celebrity fashion designer Saisha Shinde who came out as a transwoman last year [formerly Swapnil Shinde], political analyst and social activist Tehseen Poonawala, Swami Chakrapani Maharaj, social media influencer Anjali Arora, and reality show participants Sidharth and Shivam Sharma are some of the other contestants participating in the reality show.

“I found the search for contestants quite different from other reality shows. The makers were looking for somebody who had substance in them, someone who has opinions and beliefs and can stand up for themselves, and that struck a chord with me.

It will be exciting, and I am nervous too because the celebrities will have zero amenities that they are used to and they will have to earn that. Also, with MXPlayer, ALTBalaji, and Endemol doing a show like that where there will be a metaverse and immersive experience for content consumers, that would be extremely different and challenging,” says Nisha Rawal.

It may be recalled that Rawal and her actor-husband Karan Mehra's marriage hit a rough patch after the former filed a police complaint against him for domestic violence. Karan Mehra aka Naitik from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai had been accused by Rawal of having an affair, taking her jewellery, and beating her up. When asked how she will deal with the situation if the controversy reignites on the show, Rawal says, “Challenges in terms of talking about your personal life in front of the public doesn’t come naturally to me. And one controversy cannot help anyone sustain on the show for 72 days. There are 16 celebrities, so there has to be more to every person than just one controversy. But I will answer whatever I feel comfortable with. But this is not just me. Nisha Rawal is much more than just a controversy.”

Last year, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was in the news when he was arrested for jokes allegedly hurting Hindu religious sentiments in one of his stand-up shows. Later, he was under fire after the Bengaluru Police denied permission to his stand-up comedy show in the city amid protests by Hindu outfits. “I found the concept different, and sometimes, you are in that zone when you feel 'Let’s try something different.' But it is not like a career switch. I will miss the outer world. It won’t be easy to stay in the house without internet connection, and when you don’t have any control over things. But I am not thinking much, just that I will have fun in every situation. I am excited because I like working. I am waiting to go for the job. It took me time to decide but these marketing guys know how to convince us [laughs],” says Faruqui.

Interestingly, Faruqui has not been on the friendliest with Ranaut in the outside world. In tweets posted in 2020 and 2021, he took a jibe at the actress over her comments on nepotism and other issues. When asked about working with Ranaut despite having different ideologies, he said, “Mazaa aayega [It will be fun], and that is all I can say. But mine are opinions, not ideology. I am not a neta. I am a normal artist, a funny comedian, and I know how to respect other people’s ideology. Even if I disagree with them, I know it is their right and I know how to respect that. It will be a give-and-take situation, whoever will give respect, I will give them respect. This is life, not any strategy. It is a normal thing. I don’t think much about controversies. If I refuse to say things, if I don’t want to comment on things that are controversial then it won’t happen. People create controversies out of anything. You don’t know what is being edited and sent out. Earlier, controversy happened with me not even doing anything wrong.”

For certain celebrities, Ranaut hosting the show was one of the attractions to accept the offer. “I am scared of our ‘jailor’ Kangana Ranaut but it would be nice to see another strong lady out there. I don’t know how I will deal with her, it can be amazing or bitter but it would be an interesting experience,” says Pandey. “Kangana hosting it was another factor to consider because a woman who is powerful, who speaks her mind, who is fearless, and has courage to stand up for what she believes is motivating. And then of course, a new show, season one, 16 celebrities, 72 days, 24/7 live… what else would the audience want?” adds Rawal.

Meanwhile, the Lock Upp house, at least the corridor which has been revealed, looks sombre and grim. It is all black and grey with 'jail barracks,' 'prison cells,' washing area, basic toilets... with a realistic touch. Set designer Omung Kumar, who directed Sarabjit, says the research and experience of designing prison cells for his biographical drama came in handy here.

“This is a jail set and while I was designing it, I was getting tense. As it is, staying in the Bigg Boss house is difficult but this is fearful. This is like a lock-up. The contestants will always be in a dilemma because here, you have to earn everything. Beds are like beds in jail, the kitchen is shut, there are kitchen tasks, and it will open accordingly, we will see what they will eat, what they will be deprived of. Bathrooms are like the ones you find in jail where you wash clothes on the floor. You will have to fight and earn the luxuries of kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. For instance, you have to earn shower curtains or even the door to the bathroom. There is also a task for a luxury pillow. The corridor is entirely a jail but there are areas which will unfold later on. It is kept a secret. The raaz will get disclosed gradually. I have brought the elements of eeriness and cragginess to the set. It is definitely going to be a strenuous stay,” says Kumar.

Before Amitabh Bachchan's Jhund releases in theatres, let's take a look at some of the unknown facts about the film

1.     Jhund is a rarity in Mr. Bachchan’s career. For a change, he plays a real-life character. In most of his films barring Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar where he played a character modeled on Bal Thackeray, Mr. Bachchan has played seething simmering sometimes smirking larger-than-life fictional characters. I am not counting the umpteenth occasions when he has played himself in cameo roles in Pet Pyaar Aur Paap, Kaun Jeeta Kaun Hara, Jalwa, Chashme Buddoor, Hero Hiralal, Biwi No.1, Ramji Londonwaley, the Marathi film Akka, and the Kannada film Amrithadhare.

2. In Jhund Mr. B plays Vijay Barse, a legendary figure among street children of Nagpur, Vijay Barse motivated underprivileged kids to play football. Interestingly, the name Vijay follows Mr. Bachchan even into his first TrueBlue-biopic. The megastar-actor par excellence spent a large part of his life playing the character of the Angry Young Man Vijay written by Salim-Javed for deathless classics such as Zanjeer, Deewaar, Shakti, Sholay, and Trishul.

3. Director Nagraj Manjule whose stunning Marathi film Sairat set new box-office records in Marathi cinema, is a huge Amitabh Bachchan fan. He has watched each one of the Bachchan classics 10-12 times. In his heydays, Manjule would even tuck(or rather, untuck) his shirt like Mr. B In Deewaar. However, on the sets it is a isn’t a fan directing the iconic superstar(remember Puri Jagannadh and his weirdly-spelled Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap?). Rather than play the fanboy, Manjule gets another classic ‘Vijay’ performance out of his hero.

4.     Jhund began shooting in December 2018. It was hit by several problems. The original producers backed out. It was only when T Series and Bhushan Kumar stepped in that the project finally took off. After two years of determined abstinence from the OTT platform, Jhund is finally going where it belongs: on the big screen.

5. In the interim, director Nagaraj Manjule gave a stunning performance as a pedophile in the disturbing Marathi film The Silence. It isn’t a role that most actors, no matter how dedicated would like to touch. But Nagaraj Manjule has never shied away from going where the angels fear to tread. He is a rebel, one with a cause. The plight of the underprivileged and disempowered sections of society concerns Manjule’s cinema deeply.

6.     Sairat and before that, Fandry remain two of the most significant Marathi films on caste discrimination, directed by Nagraj Manjule. The Sairat co-stars Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru also play significant roles in Jhund. But make no mistake: this is an out-and-out one-man show powered by the greatest star-actor India has known. Yup, Vijay is back.

Ahead of The Batman, tracing the caped crusader's portrayals on screen, from Michael Keaton to Batfleck

In this, the golden age of geekdom, Sounds Geek To Me is a column that seeks to discuss and dissect the latest from the various fandom universes, new and old. From Marvel to Middle Earth to The Matrix, sci-fi sensations to superheroes, galaxies far far away to wizarding worlds, the column aims to inform, opine and take fantasy storytelling far too seriously.

“I am vengeance,” snarls the man behind the iconic mask with a quiet fury, in the trailer of Hollywood’s latest iteration of one the most iconic fictional figures of all time. We are days away from discovering what Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson [Battinson?] do with the Dark Knight. What better time then, to revisit the various on-screen incarnations of the Caped Crusader, and how he has evolved over the years.

While many may feel the understandable ‘oh god not another one’ sentiment, I maintain a new Batman movie remains an incredibly exciting prospect. Not just because he is one of my favourite characters, but also because he is an objectively fascinating figure with so many depths and dimensions to dive into and explore. There is a reason Bats lends himself to so many interpretations.

Because, who is Batman really? The genius? The rich boy? The playboy? The world's greatest detective? A scared, scarred little boy with too much money and an overactive imagination? A Rorschach-like, violently unstable, paranoid dude sulking in a cave with his butler? The brutally badass vigilante who is willing to go to any lengths to put the mission above himself and everyone around him? Pure weaponised vengeance and impossible pain channeled into something… greater? And, by extension, what then makes a 'good Batman movie?' Flamboyant superhero fable or a tragic human story? The Bat or the man?

But before we get lost in discussion and debate about Keaton vs Bale vs Batfleck and beyond to examine what they each did for the character, let it be known that the ‘best Batman’ remains Kevin Conroy. Conroy famously voiced the Caped Crusader through most of the animated series and movies — which remain the richest, most mature, and nuanced examinations of Batman seen on screen. Be it the now-iconic Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice, or the slew of excellent DC animated films [which offers some of the finest superhero storytelling of the last decade].

That disclaimer aside, let us take a look at what the live-action iterations have done for the Bat and more intriguingly, for Bruce Wayne.

Adam West - Batman The Lovable Goofball

Not including the 1943 series starring Lewis Wilson, for many of us, the first time we encountered the main man on-screen was through the 1960s show starring Adam West. Like most early examples of superheroes on TV, the Adam West-led series can only be described as Holy campy crayon-fest Batman! Unapologetically aimed at kids, and full of goofy dialogue and absurd scenarios, the series served its purpose and, even at its silliest, was always full of heart. Not to mention a Joker that was more mischievous than villainous [he seemed like the kind of guy whose grand plan would include pulling your chair out from under you or leaving the salt shaker slightly unscrewed or secretly replacing all the Diet Coke with actual Coke].

Michael Keaton’s Batman - The Secluded Recluse  

Jump ahead two decades, and we got our first big-screen Batman with Tim Burton’s game-changing 1989 movie, and its even better 1992 follow-up Batman Returns, both starring Michael Keaton — who many argue remains the greatest of the Batmen. Burton’s movies took themselves more seriously, and sowed the seeds of the darker, gloomier hero of the night that we know today, Bat-signalling a change of how he would be seen for the decades to come.

Unlike the Bruce Waynes we have seen since, Keaton’s Wayne was a secluded recluse who, for the most part, kept to himself within the confines of Wayne Manor. While Burton’s movies did not delve into his darkness all that much, his Bruce Wayne lived in his trauma and solitude, and felt detached from the world around him, with the gentle, fatherly Alfred to care for him [a wonderful Michael Gough who played Alfred across four movies].

The 1989 Batman was an interesting if uneven movie, despite a scenery-chewing Jack Nicholson as the Joker. But it was Burton’s sequel Batman Returns where he upped the ante giving us what remains one of the most well-crafted Batman movies ever made. Batman Returns gave us the origin stories of both Catwoman [an excellent Michelle Pfeiffer] and Penguin [a genuinely unsettling, unrecognisable Danny DeVito in what remains one of his finest performances]. Burton’s gothic approach to Gotham allowed for a maturity amidst the theatricality with actual violence and blood [there is a scene where the Penguin legit bites a dude’s nose clean off].

One of my favourite Keaton moments is from Batman Returns, when we see Bruce sitting alone in Wayne Manor, staring into the distance and lost in his head. Until he sees the Bat-Signal in the sky, and suddenly springs to life. As if Bruce Wayne is the act to wait through, and Batman, his reality.

Val Kilmer And Geroge Clooney - Gadgets And Toys

Three years later, it was Joel Schumacher who would take over the reins of Gotham’s defender with the 1995 Batman Forever with Val Kilmer, along with its sequel, the widely-panned 1997 Batman And Robin, which saw George Clooney don the cape and cowl.

With his two Batman movies, Schumacker backtracked on Burton’s moody atmosphere and specificity in favour of hollower, flashier popcorn fare with an almost action figure-like aesthetic. Though I will admit, I will never not find the metallic body armour Batsuits cool as hell, even if it does award the actor wearing it all the mobility of a pinecone.

Schumacher’s near refusal to take the character seriously was perfectly captured by the excess of the almost animated villains across both films who came armed with harebrained schemes typically involving vats of boiling acid [Jim Carrey as the Riddler, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, followed by Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr Freeze, and Urma Thurman as Poison Ivy].

I am also just going to say it: Let it be known that, as a kid, Clooney’s Batman and Robin was the single greatest movie I had ever seen anywhere ever. Those were simpler times, before our brains were cursed by the demands of great storytelling and aggressive diktats of film Twitter. Okay now, let us be adults about this and move on.

Despite giving us a Batman-Robin-Batgirl team up, Clooney’s Batman achieved next to nothing for the character. But in Val Kilmer, there was a glimmer of promise, giving us an intriguing Bruce Wayne. Batman Forever touched on interesting ideas of Bruce’s psychosis even if it did not delve into them. As Nicole Kidman’s uncomfortably eye-candy psychologist Dr Chase says, "I think he's fascinating, clinically. Why does a man do this? It's as if he's cursed to pay some great penance. What great crime could he have committed to endure such nightly torture?" Though objectively charming, Kilmer gave us a more introverted Bruce, who did not overplay the playboy persona, bringing a lingering intensity and quiet sadness in the few rare moments of calm the film awarded him.

Of course, the action of the four '90s Batman movies has aged terribly. But despite the restrictions of the time, in costume, Keaton had what his successors Kilmer and Clooney never did — a haunting presence. It is an idea that was doubled down on decades later, by one Christopher Nolan.

Christopher Nolan And Christian Bale Demanded We Take Batman Seriously

Nolan gave us a grittier, grounded Batman, asking the question — what if Batman existed in a world like ours? While many consider his mostly excellent, landscape-altering trilogy to be the definitive Batman, I would argue they offer but one excellently crafted interpretation of him. As a masterful crime drama, while The Dark Knight is widely crowned the highlight of the trilogy, for me, the film did more for what a superhero movie could be than for the character itself. [What it did for capturing the chaos and spirit of the Joker, of course, is immeasurable].

The Dark Knight may be one of the greatest movies centered on a superhero, but Batman Begins remains the greatest Batman movie ever made.

With Batman Begins, Nolan gave us our first true blue Batman origin story, allowing us the time and space to dive into the psychology of the man more than any movie before it. No film has explored the very idea of Batman, his unshakeable mission, and what it means to be him quite like Batman Begins. “If you become more than a man... an ideal... you become something else entirely, and even they can't stop you… A legend.” says Liam Neeson’s Ra’s Al Ghul.

By giving us an emotionally complex Bruce Wayne, Nolan not only forced us to take him seriously, and made the idea of a man dressed as a bat feel honest, he also offered the rare [perfect] combination of human and badass. The Bat and man perfectly balanced. As Ra’s tells Wayne, "You must become more than a man in the mind of your enemies." With Batman Begins, Nolan ensured Batman became more than a silly costumed hero in the mind of an audience.

Tying off the trilogy was the strictly serviceable The Dark Knight Rises, which holds the crown for the most overrated Batman movie. Sure it gave Bruce a touching happy ending and us a memorable Bane [Tom Hardy], but beyond that, it showcased the worst of a superhero movie focused on big ideas in place of fun thrills [Nolan’s trilogy famously offering surprisingly poor action sequences]. In short, The Dark Knight Rises was not the movie we needed, but the one we deserved… or something.

Ben Affleck’s Batman - Dark And Dejected

And most recently, there was Batfleck, with director Zack Snyder offering arguably the most specific interpretation of Batman we have seen thus far. While Snyder’s Batman Vs Superman does not always work, I maintain it offers one of the bravest, most interesting perspectives we have seen in a modern superhero movie.

Snyder’s Batman was an older, more jaded Dark Knight who has been in the vigilante game for 20 years. He is a man who has lost his way, who sees Superman’s sheer power and destructive capability as a threat. A Batman in a world of gods and monsters, grappling with their very existence.

Batman v Superman got so lost in its complex ideas, headiness, and building up the legacy of Batman that it forgot to deliver on the bare Batman basics — we rarely get to see him in action [though that ending warehouse assault sequence remains arguably the greatest Batman-in-action set pieces in film].

But despite its unevenness, Snyder offered Batman an intriguing arc from Batman v Superman through to the triumph of Zack Snyder’s Justice League [no, we are not ever going to talk about the other one]. If Batman v Superman is about Wayne rediscovering his humanity and finding his place within a new world, Justice League is about him learning to play well with others and forging connection. We will get to see Batfleck one last time, with both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton reprising their Bruce Waynes at the end of this year in the much-awaited Flash movie. Damn, what a year to be a Batfan!

There have, of course, been other takes on the Bat — whether it is the Will Arnett-voiced Lego Batman, which explored the more ridiculous shades of the character, the Gotham TV series, which featured a young Bruce Wayne, or even his multiple appearances in DC’s Titans, played by an absurdly miscast Iain Glen.

I think it speaks to the richness of the character that there are so many different interpretations of Gotham’s knight, which continue to explore different shades and elements of his legend. But for all we have seen of him, there is much that is left to be explored. Which brings us to the now. To this, the eve of Battinson. Time for something new. Time for something different. Time… for vengeance.

The Batman is slated to release in cinemas this Friday on 4 March.

शोध: कोरोना के दूरगामी दुष्प्रभावों में 200 तरह की सेहत की समस्याएं

कोरोना के दूरगामी दुष्प्रभावों में 200 तरह की दिक्कतें आ रहीं हैं। इनमें त्वचा, जोड़, हड्डियों, पेट, फेफड़े हृदय से लेकर दिमाग तक में लंबे समय तक परेशानी बनी हुई है। इनमें से कुछ पर शोध रपट आ गई है जबकि कुछ पर अभी भी अध्ययन जारी है।

एम्स में हृदय वक्ष एवं तंत्रिका विज्ञान केंद्र की मुखिया डा एमवी पद्मा ने बताया कि ब्रिटेन में हुए अध्ययन में देखा गया कि विभिन्न अंगों के परेशान करने वाले करीब 200 तरह के लक्षण सामने आ रहे हैं। जहां पहले यह केवल फेफड़ों तक असर डाल रहा था वहीं यह दिमाग की नसों से लेकर पैर की नसों तक में रुकावट करने वाले खून के थक्के बना रहा है, जिससे स्ट्रोक यानी लकवे के मामले बढ़ रहे हैं।

नसों में रुकावट से हाथ-पैर में परेशानी व सिर में हमेशा सिरदर्द की समस्या पैदा कर रहा है। डा पद्मा ने बताया कि रीढ़ की हड्डी में दिक्कत हो रही है जिससे लकवे की दिक्कतें बढ़ रहीं है। उन्होंने बताया कि फेफड़े की सांस भीतर रोक पाने की क्षमता कम हो रही है। जिससे लोगों को सांस की परेशानी, थकान व नींद की परेशानी बढ़ रही है।

उन्होंने बताया इसके अलावा हृदय के उपर भी इसका असर देखने को मिल रहा है जिसमें अनियमित धड़कन, तेज धड़कन, हृदयाघात, सीने में भारीपन व कंधों में दर्द सहित दिल में पानी भरने जैसी दिक्कतें भी देखने में आ रही हैं।मरीजों के ठीक होने के बाद भी उनकी रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता में कमी आ गई है जिससे त्वचा से लेकर तमाम तरह के संक्रमण के मामले में भी बढ़ोतरी देखी जा रही है। मानसिक स्वास्थ्य पर सबसे ज्यादा असर पड़ा है। लोग उदासी का शिकार हो रहे हैं।

बेचैनी, निर्णय लेने की क्षमता व काम करने की क्षमता सभी पर असर आ रहा है। किसी को नींद ही नहीं आ रही है तो किसी को नींद ही नींद आ रही है। एक सवाल के जवाब में उन्होंने कहा कि इन लक्षणों को लेकर बहुत घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है। लेकिन इसे हल्के में भी नहीं लिया जा सकता। उन्होंने लोगों को सलाह दी है कि खुद से दवा लेने की बजाय डाक्टर से मिल कर ही इलाज करें। इसके साथ ही यह भी बताया कि उम्मीद की जा रही है कि यह छह से नौ महीने तक परेशान कर सकता है।

भारतीयों के मोटापे से नीति आयोग चिंतित

भारतीयों में मोटापे को लेकर बढ़ती चिंता के बीच नीति आयोग अधिक चीनी, वसा और नमक वाले खाद्य पदार्थों पर कराधान और ‘फ्रंट-आफ-द-पैक लेबलिंग’ जैसे कदम उठाने के प्रस्ताव पर विचार कर रहा है। ‘फ्रंट-आफ-द-पैक लेबलिंग’ से उपभोक्ताओं को अधिक चीनी, नमक और वसा वाले उत्पादों को पहचानने में मदद मिलती है। सरकारी शोध संस्थान नीति आयोग की 2021-22 की वार्षिक रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि देश की आबादी के बीच मोटापे की बढ़ती समस्या से निपटने के लिए इस तरह के कदम पर विचार चल रहा है। आयोग ने रिपोर्ट में कहा है कि भारत में बच्चों, किशोरों और महिलाओं में अधिक वजन और मोटापे की समस्या लगातार बढ़ रही है।

रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है, ‘24 जून, 2021 को नीति आयोग के सदस्य (स्वास्थ्य) की अध्यक्षता में माताओं, किशोरों और बच्चों को मोटापे से बचाने के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एक विचार-विमर्श का आयोजन किया गया था। इसमें कहा गया है कि नीति आयोग आर्थिक विकास संस्थान (आइईजी) और भारतीय सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य संगठन (पीएचएफआइ) के सहयोग से इस दिशा में काम कर रहा है। इसके जरिए उपलब्ध साक्ष्यों के आधार उठाए जाने वाले कदमों की पहचान की जा रही है। इन उपायों के तहत ‘फ्रंट आफ पैक लेबलिंग’, एचएफएसएस (चीनी, नमक और वसा की ऊंची मात्रा वाले उत्पाद) उत्पादों का विपणन और विज्ञापन तथा अधिक चीनी, वसा और नमक वाले उत्पादों पर कर लगाना शामिल है।

गैर-ब्रांडेड नमकीन, भुजिया, वेजिटेबल्स चिप्स और स्नैक्स पर पांच फीसद माल एवं सेवा कर (जीएसटी) लगता है जबकि ब्रांडेड और पैकेटबंद उत्पादों के लिए जीएसटी दर 12 फीसद है। राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वे (एनएफएचएस-5) 2019-20 के अनुसार, मोटापे से ग्रस्त महिलाओं की संख्या बढ़कर 24 फीसद हो गई है, जो 2015-16 में 20.6 फीसद थी। जबकि पुरुषों के मामले में यह आंकड़ा 18.4 फीसद बढ़कर 22.9 फीसद हो गया है। आयोग की वार्षिक रिपोर्ट में ‘हाइपरलूप’ का भी जिक्र किया गया है।

यहां हालात बहुत खराब हैं। हर तरफ बम और सायरन की आवाज है। खाने के लिए ब्रेड और बिस्कुट एक बार ही मिल रहा है। मेस में वो भी खत्म है। पापा, तीन रात चार दिन हो गए, कोई मदद नहीं मिल रही। अब ये फोन भी बंद करने को कह रहे हैं। ये बातें सहमी आवाज में ईशा ने फोन पर अपने पापा संदीप दत्ता से कही।

ईशा ने यह भी बताया कि उसका फोन 15 घंटे से बंद है। ‘लोकेशन ट्रेस’ न हो इसलिए सभी के फोन एरोप्लेन मोड पर हैं। ईशा का परिवार नोएडा के सेक्टर-137 में रहता है। ईशा के दोस्त के फोन से 15 घंटों में सिर्फ एक एसएमएस आया है। इसमेंं लिखा है कि सब ठीक है, आप परेशान मत हो। ईशा यूक्रेन के सबसे प्रभावित क्षेत्र व दूसरे सबसे बड़े शहर खारकीव में बने एक बंकर में है। बताया जा रहा है कि रूस की सेना यूक्रेन के दूसरे सबसे बड़े शहर खारकीव में दाखिल हो गई है।

ईशा नेशनल यूनिवर्सिटी खारकीव में एमबीबीएस की प्रथम वर्ष की छात्रा है। दिसंबर में वह यूक्रेन गई थी। सीमा क्षेत्र होने से खारकीव काफी संवेदनशील है। संदीप दत्ता ने बताया कि अभी पता चला कि रूसी सेना के हमले में गैस पाइपलाइन तक फट चुकी है। इसी गैस के जरिए बंकर में सभी लोग अपने को गर्म रखने की कोशिश करते है। दत्ता के मुताबिक बढ़ते तनाव के चलते उसे वापस बुलाने के लिए 27 फरवरी का टिकट किया गया था। जिसे बढ़ाकर 28 फरवरी कर दिया गया। ईशा के साथ उसके तीन और सहपाठी हैं। वे सभी बंकर में हैं। ईशा के साथ करीब 180 और भारतीय छात्र वहां फंसे हुए हैं।

LIC IPO पर नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार का निर्णयः 20% तक FDI को मंजूरी, विनिवेश में होगी आसानी

देश के सबसे बड़े आईपीओ (IPO) को लेकर केंद्र सरकार ने बड़ा फैसला लिया है। केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने देश की सबसे बड़ी इंश्योरेंस कंपनी एलआईसी (LIC) के आईपीओ के लिए ऑटोमैटिक रूट के जरिए 20% तक प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश की मंजूरी दे दी है। एलआईसी सेबी (SEBI) के पास डीआरएचपी (Draft Red Herring Prospectus) दाखिल कर चुका है। केंद्र सरकार 5 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी की बिक्री करेगी जिसका अनुमानित मूल्य 63,000 करोड़ रुपए है।

एलआईसी दुनिया में किसी बीमा कंपनी का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा आईपीओ होगा। एलआईसी आईपीओ का 5 फीसदी हिस्सा कर्मचारियों के लिए, 10 फीसदी हिस्सा बीमा धारकों के लिए रिजर्व रखेगा। एलआईसी आईपीओ का कुल 35 फीसदी हिस्सा रिटेल इन्वेस्टर्स के लिए है। यानी जिनके पास एलआईसी बीमा है, वो चार लाख तक के शेयरों के लिए बोली लगा सकते हैं।

कैसे लें एलआईसी आईपीओ पर डिस्काउंट?: उम्मीद जताई गई है कि एलआईसी पॉलिसी होल्डर के लिए आईपीओ का कुछ हिस्सा रिजर्व रखेगी और उन्हें प्राइस में डिस्काउंट भी मिल सकता है। अगर कोई एलआईसी का पॉलिसी धारक है तो 28 फरवरी से पहले पॉलिसी को पैन कार्ड से लिंक कराना होगा। इसके लिए आपके पास Demat Account होना जरूरी है। अगर आपके पास Demat अकाउंट है और आपकी पॉलिसी पैन कार्ड से लिंक है तो आपको एलआईसी के शेयर डिस्काउंट पर भी मिलने की उम्मीद है।

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने पिछले साल जुलाई में एलआईसी के आरंभिक सार्वजनिक निर्गम को मंजूरी दी थी। इस निर्गम के लिए एलआईसी ने बाजार नियामक सेबी के पास आवेदन किया था। यूबीएस की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार एलआईसी की लिस्टिंग वैल्यूएशन करीब 172 अरब डॉलर की हो सकती है। एलआईसी लिस्टिंग के तुरंत बाद ही मार्केट कैप के लिहाज से देश की तीसरी सबसे बड़ी कंपनी हो जाएगी।

रूस-यूक्रेन जंग में फंसे भारतीय: यूक्रेन से निकलने के लिए -3 डिग्री में पैदल निकला बिहार का छात्र, जानिए आपबीती

यूक्रेन से बाहर निकलने के लिए बिहार के रहने वाले एक छात्र ने -3 डिग्री में पैदल चालीस किलोमीटर तक का सफ़र किया। जिसके बाद वह पोलैंड बॉर्डर तक पहुंचा। इतना ही नहीं उसने सिर्फ 174 किलोमीटर की दूरी के लिए टैक्सी का किराया 19500 रुपए दिया। बिहार के रहने वाले इस छात्र ने अपनी आपबीती बताई है।

बिहार के भागलपुर के रहने वाले शुभम सम्राट यूक्रेन के टेरनोपिल नेशनल मेडिकल यूनिवर्सिटी में एमबीबीएस की पढ़ाई कर रहे हैं। दैनिक भास्कर की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार यूक्रेन और रूस के बीच उपजे संकट के मध्य जब शुभम ने वहां से निकलने की चाही तो उसे काफी मशक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा। शुभम रोमानिया बॉर्डर के रास्ते यूक्रेन से निकलना चाह रहे थे लेकिन उस बॉर्डर की तरफ कोई भी टैक्सी या वाहन चालक जाने को तैयार नहीं हुआ।

जिसके बाद शुभम ने पोलैंड के रास्ते यूक्रेन से निकलने की योजना बनाई। शुभम जिस हॉस्टल में रह रहे थे वहां से पोलैंड बॉर्डर की दूरी करीब 214 किलोमीटर है। इसलिए उन्होंने अपने तीन दोस्तों के साथ मिलकर एक कार भाड़े पर लिया और पोलैंड बॉर्डर की तरफ निकले। लेकिन युद्ध संकट की वजह काफी संख्या में लोगों के द्वारा यूक्रेन छोड़ने के कारण पोलैंड बॉर्डर की तरफ काफी लंबा जाम लग गया। जिसकी वजह से बॉर्डर से करीब 40 किलोमीटर पहले ही कार चालक ने उसे और उसके साथियों को उतार दिया।

इसके बाद शुभम और उसके साथियों को पैदल ही बाकी की यात्रा करनी पड़ी। -3 डिग्री सेल्सियस में भी उनलोगों को पैदल यात्रा करना पड़ा। शुभम ने वीडियो बनाकर वहां के हालत दिखाए हैं कि किस तरह से भारी संख्या में लोग पैदल ही पोलैंड बॉर्डर की तरफ जा रहे हैं। इस दौरान शुभम को अपने मोबाइल फोन को चार्ज करने के लिए जाम में फंसे कारों की मदद लेनी पड़ी।

'Rudra is suave, nuanced and mindful and that’s why I was drawn to him in the first place': Ajay Devgn

A remake of the successful British series Luther, the series is an engaging and dark take on a cop's journey of uncovering truths and bringing victims justice. It will see Ajay Devgn’s titular character of an intuitive and instinctive police officer fighting for the truth in darkness as he wades through a grim and complex web of crimes and criminals and corruption with a wrathful, steely grit.

ऑनलाइन दर्ज रहेगी आपकी सेहत से जुड़ी जानकारी- आयुष्मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन को मोदी कैबिनेट की मंज़ूरी

आयुष्मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी कैबिनेट ने मंजूरी दे दी है। इसके तहत पांच साल के लिए कुल 1,600 करोड़ रुपये का वित्‍तीय प्रावधान किया गया है। पीटीआई पर दी गई जानकारी के अनुसार, प्रधानमंत्री की अध्‍यक्षा में बुधवार को हुई मीटिंग में आयुष्‍मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन को मंजूरी दे दी गई है। इसके तहत अब आपके स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य संबंधी पूरी जानकारी डिजिटल हो जाएगी।

वहीं एक सरकारी बयान के अनुसार आयुष्‍मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन के उपयोग से दूर के क्षेत्रों में सुविधाएं पहुंचाना और भी आसान हो जाएगा। साथ ही मरीजों की जानकारी ऑनलाइन होने से उनका इलाज सही तरीके से हो सकेगा और वे कहीं भी आसानी से इलाज करा सकेंगे।

क्‍या है आयुष्‍मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन
भारत सरकार ने स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य विभाग को डिजिटल करने के एक कदम को बढ़ाया है। इसके तहत मरीजों का Health ID Card जनरेट किया जाता है। जिसपर मरीजों के इलाज और दवाओं का पूरा डेटा रहता है। इस कारण वे जहां चाहें, जाकर अपना इलाज आसानी से करा सकते हैं। 15 अगस्त 2020 को आयुष्मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन लांच करने की घोषणा की गई थी। जिसके बाद छह केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में इसे लागू किया गया था। अब इसे कैबिनेट की मंजूरी दे दी गई है।

खाता जनरेट कर सकेंगे
जानकारी के मुताबिक, इसके तहत देश के लोग अपनी आयुष्मान भारत स्वास्थ्य खाता संख्या (ayushman bharat health account number) जेनरेट कर सकेंगे जिससे डिजिटल स्वास्थ्य रिकॉर्ड (digital health record) को जोड़ा जा सकेगा। जिससे वे डॉक्टर के नुस्खे, लैब रिपोर्ट, अस्पताल के रिकॉर्ड आदि सहित अपने सभी मौजूदा और नए मेडिकल रिकॉर्ड को जोड़ने के लिए ABHA नंबर का इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं।

17 करोड़ से ज्यादा खाते
जानकारी के अनुसा, आयुष्‍मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन में 24 फरवरी 2022 तक, 17,33,69,087 आयुष्मान भारत स्वास्थ्य खाते बनाए गए हैं और एबीडीएम में 10,114 डॉक्टरों और 17,319 स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं को जोड़ा जा चुका है। और इन संख्‍याओं को आगे भी बढ़ाया जाएगा।

How Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha helped a girl overcome anxiety and fear

When I first watched Dum Laga Ke Haisha, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, honestly, I was surprised. Did Bollywood actually make a film with a fat actor without shaming her or using her for comic relief? Does this mean chubby women like me will finally find representation in Bollywood films?

In the film that released on this day seven years ago, 27 February, 2015, Sandhya [Pednekar] is an educated girl who gets married to Prem [Khurrana], who does not like her because she is fat and does not fit into his idea of a dream girl. Prem often fat-shames her. However, Sandhya does not take any of his bullsh*t. In fact, she calls him out saying that at least she is educated, and is capable enough to earn her own bread and butter.

The film beautifully depicts how difficult it is for fat women to have a successful arranged marriage, and it normalises fat female characters. It shows that fat women can have a normal life too, can participate in races, build a career, and have a good family life; that their body weight does not come in the way.

Thought it was always a form of much-needed escapism, Bollywood has given me some major anxiety. It made me question if I was good enough. The beauty standards it had set back in the '90s were not normal. But that did not start then.

Bollywood always has used fat female characters for comic relief, successfully shaming them in the process. If you are someone like me who lives to watch Hindi films, you would know Uma Devi Khatri, also known as Tun Tun by the industry. She was a fat woman who was cast in films only for comic relief, and was shamed ruthlessly.

To this date, people refer to fat women as Tun Tun in real life. Ask me, I have been there, and dealt with this name-calling.

In case you are thinking Bollywood progressed after that, then the answer is no. In Kal Ho Naa Ho, Sweetu's [Delnaz Irani] best friend Naina [Preity Zinta] told her she was only worthy of being loved if she lost weight. And Sweetu's sister [Lillete Dubey] compared her to a double-decker bus. Sweetu's weight was a source of comic relief throughout the film, with characters constantly commenting on it.

In Dil, starring Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit, one of the scenes shows that if the actor would lose a match, he would be forced to kiss an overweight woman. Brandishing a fat woman as a punishment was seriously flawed — but certainly not uncommon in movies from the '90s. And of course, in these instances, the overweight person was always shown to be unhygienic — to make the very idea of kissing an overweight woman disgusting.

Remember Ishq? In one scene, the creators insulted a woman for her weight. I can go on and on and talk about Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Hadh Kar Di Apne, Ujda Chaman, Kabir Singh, or even the most popular The Kapil Sharma Show. In Judwaa 2, Varun Dhawan is shown running away from a fat police woman in London. She stumbles, and finds it difficult to run because fat women cannot run, you guys. And this film released in 2017.

As if all of it was not enough, we even have Instagram and other social media platforms to add to the anxiety. Sara Ali Khan casually post her fat-to-fab pictures, without taking a second to think that she might make her followers, who are mostly teenage girls, feel that you can only make it big if you are thin. This is just one of the many examples.

Films are a reflection of society, and have a major role in influencing youngsters and their attitude towards people. By making films where fat women are shamed, the actors and makers are telling us it is okay to make fun of someone just because they look a certain way.

As a fat woman, I get offended when I see wrong representation of women on screen. I hope Bollywood starts making more films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, that are inclusive and accepting of women of different shapes and sizes.

राज्यपाल ने यहां उठाई मांग- दो साल पूरे करने वाले सभी मंत्रालयों के स्टाफ के लिए मासिक पेंशन की नीति खत्म करे सरकार

दक्षिणी राज्य केरल के राज्यपाल आरिफ मोहम्मद खान ने दो साल की सेवा पूरा करने वाले राज्य सरकार के सभी मंत्रालयों के स्टाफ़ को मिलने वाले मासिक पेंशन की नीति ख़त्म करने की मांग की है। राज्यपाल की इस मांग से उनके और राज्य सरकार के बीच विवाद की स्थिति बन गई है।

हमारे सहयोगी अख़बार द इंडियन एक्सप्रेस में छपे कूमी कपूर के कॉलम इनसाइड ट्रैक के अनुसार केरल के राज्यपाल आरिफ मोहम्मद खान ने मांग की है कि राज्य की पिनराई विजयन सरकार मंत्रियों के पर्सनल स्टाफ को दो साल तक अपनी सेवा देने के बाद मिलने वाले मासिक पेंशन की नीति को ख़त्म करे। आरिफ मोहम्मद खान का आरोप है कि यह पेंशन सरकारी खर्च पर माकपा कार्यकर्ताओं को स्थाई वेतन देने का अवैध तरीका है।

राज्य की सीपीएम सरकार के मंत्री आम तौर पर लगभग 20 स्टाफ सदस्यों को नियुक्त करते हैं और उन्हें हर दो साल में बदल दिया जाता है। राज्यपाल का आरोप है कि मंत्रियों में लगभग सभी माकपा कार्यकर्ता हैं। केरल के राज्यपाल की तरह तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल आरएन रवि भी तमिलनाडु के 38 जिलों में से प्रत्येक जिलों में प्रचार अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति को लेकर डीएमके सरकार की योजना पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं।

राज्यपाल के द्वारा उठाए जा रहे इस मांग पर राज्य सरकार की नेतृत्व करने वाली सीपीएम ने दो टूक कहा है कि मंत्रियों के पर्सनल स्टाफ की मासिक पेंशन को ख़त्म नहीं की जाएगी। सीपीएम ने साफ़ कहा कि इस पेंशन की शुरुआत साल 1984 में हुई थी और इसे तत्कालीन यूडीएफ सरकार ने शुरू किया था। इसलिए सिर्फ राज्यपाल के विरोध के कारण इस पेंशन योजना को बंद नहीं किया जा सकता है। मंत्रियों के कामकाज को सुचारू रूप से चलाने के लिए उनके निजी स्टाफ को पेंशन देना जरूरी है।

बीते दिनों इस मुद्दे को लेकर केरल विधानसभा में विधायकों ने राज्यपाल वापस जाओ के नारे भी लगाए गए। इतना ही नहीं राज्य की कम्युनिस्ट सरकार ने केंद्र सरकार को पत्र लिखकर कहा कि संविधान के नियमों के तहत राज्यपाल की नियुक्ति से पहले उस राज्य के सरकारों से सलाह जरूर लेनी चाहिए।

NCR से बाहर करें हरियाणा के ये इलाके- मनोहर लाल खट्टर सरकार ने लिखा- नफा से ज्यादा है नुकसान, जानिए अभी कितना फैला है एनसीआर

हरियाणा की मनोहर लाल खट्टर सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र (NCR) से अपना एक तिहाई हिस्सा हटाने की मांग को लेकर एनसीआर योजना बोर्ड को पत्र लिखा है। खट्टर सरकार ने इसके पीछे दलील देते हुए कहा कि यह हमें लाभ पहुंचाने की बजाय नुकसान दे रहा है। हालांकि उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि योजना बोर्ड ने हरियाणा के इस अनुरोध को स्वीकार भी कर लिया है।   

सीएम मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने कहा है कि वे मंगलवार को होने वाली एनसीआर योजना बोर्ड की अगली बैठक में केंद्रीय आवास और शहरी मामलों के राज्यमंत्री हरदीप पुरी के सामने भी इस मामले को उठाएंगे। एनसीआर में अपने हिस्से में कटौती की मांग को लेकर मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली पर शहरीकरण के बोझ को कम करने के लिए एनसीआर का विस्तार किया गया था। इसलिए यह निर्णय लिया गया था कि दिल्ली के आसपास के इलाकों में भी उसी तरह की सुविधाएं और बुनियादे ढ़ांचे विकसित किए जाएंगे। समय के साथ एनसीआर का क्षेत्र बढ़ता रहा। एनसीआर के विकास के साथ ही इसके कई दुष्परिणाम भी सामने आए हैं।

उन्होंने कहा कि उदहारण के तौर पर जब राष्ट्रीय हरित प्राधिकरण कोई प्रतिबंध या अंकुश लगाता है। चाहे वह प्रदूषण या निर्माण कार्यों पर प्रतिबंध को लेकर हो तो इससे हरियाणा का करीब 57% हिस्सा प्रभावित होता है। इसलिए हरियाणा के कई इलाकों को एनसीआर से बाहर किए जाने पर एक बड़ी आबादी इस तरह के प्रतिबंधों से मुक्त रहेगी।

वर्तमान में हरियाणा के कुल 22 जिलों में से 14 जिले एनसीआर में आते हैं। इसमें करनाल, जींद, महेंद्रगढ़, भिवानी, पलवल, चरखी दादरी, गुड़गांव, फरीदाबाद, झज्जर, रेवाड़ी, सोनीपत, पानीपत, रोहतक और नूंह शामिल हैं। राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र का सिर्फ 2.69 प्रतिशत हिस्सा ही दिल्ली में आता है, जबकि 45.98  प्रतिशत हिस्सा हरियाणा में आता है। वहीं जबकि  26.92 प्रतिशत हिस्सा उत्तर प्रदेश में है और 24.41 प्रतिशत राजस्थान में है। उत्तरप्रदेश के आठ जिले और राजस्थान के दो जिले एनसीआर में हैं।

अगर केंद्र सरकार हरियाणा सरकार की इस मांग को मान लेती है कई जिलों के कुछ ही हिस्से एनसीआर में आएंगे। जैसे उदाहरण के तौर पर वर्तमान में पूरा करनाल जिला एनसीआर में आता है लेकिन अगर हरियाणा के एनसीआर वाले हिस्से में कटौती होती है तो सिर्फ घरौंदा तहसील ही एनसीआर में आएगा। करनाल जिले का बाकी हिस्सा एनसीआर से मुक्त हो जाएगा।
